Revisiting The 1997 Florida Marlins

I wasn’t ever much of a baseball fan before the inaugural season of the Florida Marlins in 1993, and now in the present they are named the Miami Marlins in the second decade of the 21st century. Well as the Florida Marlins they have shocked the world by winning the world series in 1997. In 1993 I became a fan of the Marlins, and still am. They have had big name stars on the team. In their first time in the playoffs they weren’t supposed to contend for a championship, but they have proved to the nation that they could. All the opponents in the playoffs were tough. In the first round they have swept the San Francisco Giants. The next opponent, which was the toughest one were the Atlanta Braves, which were one of the real contenders to win it all. Guess what? The Marlins beat the Braves 4 games to 2. We were favored to win it al in the world series. The next opponent was the Cleveland Indians for the championship. We defeated them in seven games to win our first ever championship. The Marlins are undefeated in the playoffs, which they have never lost a series. Of, course years after that they went on to win another championship, but this was the most impressive team. Now we look back at history honoring this team, the staff, organization, and its players for their magical year. We probably will, or won’t see a team like this one ever again.
