Iggy Azalea (1990-Present)

Iggy Azalea is an Australian recording artist. At the age of 16 she left for the United States to pursue a career in hip hop music. She resided to Miami, Florida, and then to Atlanta, Georgia. She was the first female non-American rapper to be featured on XXL‘s annual Top 10 Freshmen cover issue. She debuted her studio album The New Classic on April 21, 2014 under Virgin EMI and Def Jam recordings. Four singles in her album went on to reach number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The songs include: “Work”, “Bounce”, “Change Your Life”, and “Fancy”. She went on to pass Lil’ Kim as the female rapper with the longest-leading number 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Fancy”. She moved into a tie for fifth place among lead women that have scored the longest commands on the Hot 100 this decade.
