  1. The Color Purple is a beautiful story beyond compare, and your interpretation of the character Celie is very interesting to me. I absolutely agree that she seeks these blessings that should be inviolable human rights, but I see her differently. To me, she is a tangible representation of the downtrodden, the voiceless, and the forgotten. Clearly she is a stunning character and has everything to offer the world, but no one sees that. Well, almost no one sees that. I find it incredible that even though she is invisible to so many around her, she never stops being beautiful in her own quiet unique way. And once she finds her voice and her strength, she ceases to be invisible and the world comes to her instead. So very lovely. 🙂
