Paul Mazursky was an American film director, screenwriter, and actor. He was nominated for 5 academy awards. Three times for Best Original Screenplay, one for Best Adapted Screenplay, and once for Best Picture for An Umarried Woman (1978). He has written and directed other films, which include Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969), Harry and Tonto (1974), Moscow on the Hudson (1984), and Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986).
